Founded in 1937, by Harold &
Nancy Lindop, Westholme Nurseries began life as a smallholding with
hens & pigs. They also grew vegetables for sale at the gate going on
to grow & supply lettuce & tomatoes to wholesalers in the Potteries. Harold
& Nancy grew two sons Jim & Geoff. Jim joined the business whilst
Geoff pursued other interests. |

Jim studied at Pershore
College of Horticulture where he met & married Anne.
Following graduation
Jim developed the ornamental part of the business, increasing the
area for greenhouses growing bedding plants as well as tomatoes,
chrysanthemums & pot plants for sale in the shop together with an
expanding range of garden sundries.
Anne went on to study floristry,
at Reaseheath College, and to develop the cut-flower element of the
Nursery. |
Jim & Anne produced three
children - Stephen, Philip & Christine who are all an integral part
of Westholme Nurseries.
Stephen studied Glasshouse Crop Production
at Hertfordshire College of Horticulture & Reaseheath College,
Philip attended Reaseheath College & Pershore College of
Horticulture to acquire the skills of Garden Centre Management whilst
Christine studied the art of floristry at Reaseheath College.
